THE PALESTINIANS Documentary. 1975. 45'. Colour. Dutch with English subtitles
Shot in Lebanon in 1975, shortly before the outbreak of the civil war, The Palestinians explores the complex and touchy subject of the conflict in the Middle-East. By bringing out the contradictions among the different Lebanese social classes, the film makes it possible to more clearly define the identity of the Palestinians, and to better understand their claims.

THE EYE ABOVE THE WELL Documentary. 1988. 90'. Colour. Dutch with English subtitles
In India, Johan van der Keuken studies the teachings of ancient Keralese traditions by filming different dance, singing, and martial arts classes, a Vedic school, and a theatre performance. As a counterpoint, through the itinerary of a modest country moneylender travelling from village to village, he evokes the economic situation of the region. The film's movement captures the essence of a civilization; the permanence of values such as harmony and discipline.
