The word “barbarian” is probably connected etymologically with the inarticulate confusion of birdsong, in contra-distinction to the significant sounds of human speech. Starting from this sentence that evokes collapsed logos within unknown languages, and passing through excerpts of texts, sounds, and the artist’s own work, Georgette Power will introduce some levels of speech, some voices of the otherness that she encountered and sometimes used. It will be in French “with subtitles” to enlighten the words in the dark.
The evening program will consist of reading excerpts from Claude Lévi-Strauss and Valère Novarina; sound works by Hugues Le Bars and screenings of déflagration and phœnix by Georgette Power.
