Pascal Zoghbi: Arabic typography

In the framework of the white wall exhibition, Pascal Zoghbi will showcase his urban-environmental Arabic-type projects highlighting the inspiration from classical Arabic-style calligraphy and the creation of unique modern typefaces.

Pascal Zoghbi (Lebanon) is an Arabic type designer and typographer whose design work ranges from creating new Arabic fonts to corporate identities and print publications. Since 2006, after his graduation from the type & media course at the royal academy of arts in the Netherlands with a master of design, Zoghbi has been involved in an impressive collection of new Arabic-type design projects. He has created contemporary Arabic fonts for leading Middle Eastern newspapers, urban places, art events and magazines, software, and several other companies. Zoghbi took part in the typographic matchmaking 01 and 02 projects organized by the Khatt foundation. Since 2006, he has been teaching typography and type design courses at graphic design schools in the American university of Beirut, the Lebanese American University, and Notre Dame University. Zoghbi frequently gives lectures and workshops about Arabic type and typography and he runs a blog about Arabic type and typography. Pascal Zoghbi recently co-authored and edited the book Arabic graffiti published by from here to fame, Berlin.
