We are in the midst of a transformation in the way we design, make and use the lighting objects that surround us. Light Emitting Diodes have led to what was until recently, a series of unimaginable improvements in terms of durability, environmental performance, long life and energy efficiency. Yet, apart from these obvious benefits, LEDs’ significance lies also in the fact that they provide designers with an unprecedented opportunity to experiment with and explore new aesthetics that are free of the typical limitations of conventional fittings. LED IS MORE by Niko Koronis is such an experiment.
Specifically designed for the Beirut Art Center and locally produced in Beirut, this collection of lighting objects being exhibited is the direct result of an investigation of the possibilities offered by one of the most important technological developments in the field of lighting design.
