Snakeskin x 𝘓𝘢 𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦 𝘥𝘦 𝘭’𝘦𝘢𝘶 (1925)

Thursday, July 3 · 8PM · BAC Rooftop

A young girl lives on a barge with her father and her uncle Jeff. Her father gets drowned and she is left with Jeff, who mistreats her. She runs away and first meets a poacher who gives her shelter, then Georges, a young and shy bourgeois who falls for her.

SNAKESKIN is a Beirut-based duo of visionary electronic dream pop, shapeshifting above ambient and industrial undercurrents. Their music is moody, unsettling, luminous – the culmination of a decade of collaboration and friendship between producer/musician Fadi Tabbal and singer-songwriter Julia Sabra from indie trio Postcards.

In this live ciné-concert, Snakeskin performs to 𝘓𝘢 𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦 𝘥𝘦 𝘭’𝘦𝘢𝘶 (1925) by Jean Renoir, pairing the film’s elemental landscapes and shifting emotions with their moody, shape-shifting sound.

The performance will be followed by a DJ set by Carla Lover.
