from April 22 to may 22, 2010, Beirut art center will be hosting an exhibition within the framework of home works 5. home works is a multidisciplinary platform organized by ashkal alwan that takes place in Beirut, Lebanon approximately every other year for research and exchange on artistic and cultural practices. home works 5: a forum on cultural practices will explore through exhibitions, lectures, panels, dance, performances, film and video screenings, music, and publications the following five themes: in and out of education…what can we teach nowadays/ where is Beirut, Ramallah, Cairo…from the saadiyat islands/ sound & citizenry/ the odd years/ militarism. an exhibition will also take place at ashkal alwan for contemporary arts and the home works academy (Jisr el wati).
