“Laughing on the river, your eyes drown in tears”

Hussein Nassereddine’s performance “Laughing on the river, your eyes drown in tears” as part of the public program of the artist’s exhibition “Years of the shining face”. 

As if narrating to an audience gathered around water, artist Hussein Nassereddine orates stories of bygone poetry, and of poets whose jaws would appear brimming with marble. This performance draws out from the artist’s examination of histories and resources of poetry, language and water.
