Lecture by Jonah Schulhofer-Wohl
Language: Arabic
Lives at war collects the personal snapshots of individuals who participated in the Lebanese civil war. By publicly displaying photographs once part of a private discourse about the war, it aims to allow the audience to examine and reflect on the private narratives and memories of the Lebanese civil war retained by former combatants, juxtaposing scenes from the lives of those who fought against one another. I will present a selection of photographs from this work-in-progress and discuss the process of collecting them. The photographic research related to Jonah Schulhofer-Wohl’s project is supported by the Arab image foundation.
